The Faith Formation Program General Applicaion online or the "Application for Family of God Medal" (preferred) in the back of the Family of God children's workbook must be completed and submitted to the Office of Youth Ministry before you will be allowed to purchase the Family of God medal.

What: Family of God, first offered in 1981, is the official religious recognition program of the Roman Catholic Church. An activity series developed to complement the catechetical efforts of the parish and families.

Who: For children in the second and third grades who can be enrolled in the Girl Scouts of the USA, American Heritage Girls, Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas and other Catholic youth organizations.

Where: In the Family of God program, parents and guardians play a large role in assisting the children in completing the activities. Therefore, this program includes a guide for adults. Medals are presented each year at your local parish service.

How long: This program can take up to a three or four month period if done within an organizational setting.

Purpose: To help children discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their family and parish. To help the children understand that they are special in their family’s eyes and most importantly in God’s eyes.

  6. I Can Help God’s Family
